Underneath the red, white and blue CRS racing livery on the GT2 Ferrari lies a thoroughbred, red-blooded racing machine. The basic body shell looks like a 430 roadcar but the many aerodynamic ‘extras’ give just a taste of what is under the skin. The chassis is packed full of state-of-the-art racing parts including an uprated engine for 2008 with a new aspiration system, more horsepower and better torque. The GT2 430 is the best GT car Ferrari has to offer and arguably the best GT2 race car in the world. ENGINE Location: Central-rear, longitudinal disposition. Type: Ferrari F136, 8 cylinders with V 90° layout. Capacity: 3996.56 cm3. Bore: 92 mm. Stroke: 75.15 mm. Maximum Power: 445 CV at 6750 rpm. Maximum Torque: 495 Nm at 5200 rpm. Materials: Aluminium alloy engine block and cylinder heads, steel connecting rods, forged steel crankshaft. Intake system: Air induction limited by two restrictors Æ 28.1 mm (per FIA / ACO GT2 rules) placed at the entries of the air box, opening by 8 mechanical throttles. Timing system: 4 camshafts (2 per each cylinder head) driven by 2 chains, 4 valves per cylinder. Injection and ignition: Magneti Marelli MARVEL8 engine electronic management, adjustable engine mapping, adjustable traction control, fuel injection by 1 injector per cylinder, ignition by 1 spark plug per cylinder. Exhaust system: Inconel tubing, not silenced (120 db noise). Cooling system: Liquid type, 2 radiators placed in the front of the front wheels. Lubrication system: Dry sump, gear pump, liquid-oil heat exchanger and filter. Fuel: Unleaded 102 RON, 88 MON. POWER TRAIN Location: rear, longitudinal disposition. Type: 6 speed + reverse, sequential control. Gears: not synchronized, adjustable gear ratios. Differential: self-locking, externally adjustable pre-load, power flow types. Clutch: 5”1/2 syntherized three discs, hydraulic control. Materials: magnesium casings and covers. Lubrication system: gear pump, radiator and filter. CHASSIS AND BODYWORK Chassis: aluminium monocoque, steel safety cage (per FIA rules), not stressed engine and gearbox stiffly fitted to the chassis, left hand drive. Fuel tanks: single FT3 (per FIA safety rules) tank located behind the cockpit panel, 100 / 90 litres fuel capacity (per FIA / ACO GT2 rules), fast refuelling fillers. Steering system: rack and pinion system, electro-hydraulic power steering. Front suspension: independent wheels, overlapped aluminium triangular wishbones, anti-dive geometry, helicoidal springs, adjustable shock absorbers, adjustable anti-roll bar (available in different diameters), aluminium alloy uprights, quick release single wheel nut.
